23 Oct2019 Victorian Early Years Awards winners announced
Congratulations to the winners of the 2019 Victorian Early Years Awards, especially ELAA members Balnarring Preschool, The Geelong College, and Darren Reserve Kindergarten (partner of award winner -Keysborough Primary School), which were announced on Tuesday, 22 October at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne.
The winners are:
Category 1: Improving Access and Participation in Early Learning – Moreland City Libraries
Category 2: Supporting Parents to Build Their Capacity and Confidence – Rosanna Golf Links Primary School
Category 3: Creating Collaborative Community Partnerships – Balnarring Preschool
Category 4: Promoting Children’s Health and Wellbeing – Banyule Community Health
Category 5: Continuity of Early Learning – Wimmera Southern Mallee Regional Partnership
Category 6: Early Learning Teacher of the Year – Leanne Mits (Pope Road Kindergarten, Blackburn)
Category 7: The Emeritus Professor Collette Tayler Excellence in Educational Leadership Awards – The Geelong College
Minister’s Award – Keysborough Primary School
Balnarring Preschool was awarded the Creating Collaborative Community Partnerships Award as a service or initiative that promotes collaborative practice to support and demonstrate positive outcomes for children and families. This centred on their programs promoting engagement with Australian First People’s cultures.
The Geelong College was awarded the Emeritus Professor Collette Tayler Excellence in Educational Leadership Awards for a collaborative project between teachers and educators form the College’s early learning centre and Junior School that has led to greater understanding between the two learning areas.
Keysborough Primary School won this years Minister’s Award for their partnership with Darren Reserve Kindergarten in supporting children to transition from kindergarten to school.
