Following the signing of the National Partnership Agreement on the weekend, the Victorian Department of Education and Training has published the 2022 kindergarten rates.

The new rates apply to both three-year-old and four-year-old enrolments. Where services are delivering a funded three-year-old kindergarten program of less than 15 hours, the child level funding will be prorated.

As was the case for the 2021 funding rates, a higher per capita rate is available for service providers operating under the  Victorian Early Childhood Teachers’ and Educators’ Agreement 2020 (VECTEA) or the Early Education Employees’ Agreement (EEEA) or an approved equivalent agreement.

Further details about the published rates will be made available in a Vic DET Bulletin.

Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) welcomes the announcement of the signing of the National Partnership Agreement between Victoria and the Commonwealth. ELAA, together with our members and other sector partners, have advocated for ongoing funding for kindergartens for many years. The new four-year funding agreement provides up to $514 million in Commonwealth funding from 2022 to 2025 and will benefit up to 330,000 Victorian children in four-year-old kindergarten.
