19 OctBalnarring Pre-School, Finalist in 2021 Narragunnawali Awards
ELAA member, Balnarring Pre-school, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 2021 Narragunnawali Awards for their actions towards reconciliation. The Narragunnawali Awards are the only national awards program that recognises and celebrates Australian schools and early learning services that are implementing outstanding reconciliation initiatives.
Finalists are acknowledged for strengthening relationships, building respect, and providing meaningful opportunities in the classroom, around the school or service, and with the community.
The Balnarring Pre-school reconciliation action plan recognises the importance of children learning the histories and cultures of Australia’s First Peoples, in order to form a society that respects diversity and celebrates relationships, unity and connectedness. Balnarring Pre-School’s philosophy weaves learning with First Peoples everyday as an act of reconciliation.
The 2021 awards ceremony will take place as part of the Australian Reconciliation Convention on 15–17 November.
