There’s still time to register for ELAA’s AGM and be inspired by our keynote speaker, Leslee Udwin.  Leslee is the founder of Think Equal – a global NGO offering an amazing program and resources to foster social and emotional learning in pre-school aged children.

Keynote speaker – Leslee Udwin

This year’s ELAA Annual General Meeting will be held via Zoom so it’s easy to get to (and no parking issues!). The ELAA AGM is always more than an Annual General meeting with the McArthur Early Childhood Volunteer of the Year Awards and an inspiring keynote speaker always featuring on the agenda.

This year’s keynote,  Leslee Udwin, is a former filmmaker and now an activist and founder / CEO of Think Equal. Her keynote address is titled ‘The Most Important Subject in the World’.

Leslee’s multi-award-winning documentary “India’s Daughter” sparked a global movement to end violence against women and girls. The profound insights from the film led Leslee to leave film making and found an NGO called Think Equal which demands that the “missing subject” of Social and Emotional Learning become the core purpose of Early Childhood Education.

Think Equal, both a movement and a holistic early year’s intervention program is currently impacting 38,000 children in 14 countries. Its vision is to create a safe, peaceful, sustainable and equal world.

Leslee has been awarded several prestigious awards including Swedish Anna Lindh Human Rights Prize (previously won by Madeleine Albright), UN Women for Peace Activist Award, Gandhi Foundation International Peace Award and UN Association USA’s Global Citizen.

Think Equal, a global education initiative that calls for a system change in education to end the discriminatory mindset and cycle of violence across the world. The Think Equal program offers some amazing resources to foster social and emotional learning in pre-school aged children which we are sure our members will find inspiring and highly applicable to their learning programs.

The 2020 ELAA AGM will be held via Zoom on Thursday, 19 November at 6.30pm.

This is an ELAA member only event. CLICK HERE to register now (registrations close 5pm, 19 November).
