Posted on 22 Oct 2020

Dear members and friends

As we head into the Grand Final weekend I wanted to wish you all a well-earned break and best of luck to all those Tigers and Cats supporters.

This fortnight’s eNews features essential updates on the do’s and don’ts of photographers taking photos at Victorian services and transition visits to prepare children for school in 2021. There’s also more details on our upcoming ELAA Annual General Meeting (19 November) which I all hope you will attend. It will be a great evening with our guest speaker Think Equal Founder, Leslee Udwin. Leslee is an accomplished film maker, human rights advocate, and her organisation, Think Equal, has some amazing programs and resources to foster social and emotional growth in pre-school aged children.

Our AGM will also feature the McArthur Early Childhood Volunteer Awards so if you haven’t nominated one of your volunteers yet you have until November 5 (more details in eNews). There’s also more information on our next online forum (29 October) which will focus on the Victorian funded three-year-old kindergarten rollout so if you run a three-year-old program be sure to attend.
And if COVID-19 is impacting your employees in the workplace make sure to read the information in eNews on the WorkSafe Wellbeing Trial as the application date has been extended again to October 31.

ELAA achieved a big milestone late last week with the publication of a new, bigger and better Employee Management and Development (EM&D) Resource. The resource has been developed in conjunction with Vic DET and features high quality materials to support you in managing and developing your early childhood education and care staff to reach their full potential.  Make sure you click on the link in eNews to find out more.

Finally, don’t forget ELAA is closed on the Victorian Grand Final holiday (Friday 23 October) and Melbourne Cup Day (Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd November).

All the best

David Worland
