05 NovELAA CEO update 5 November 2021

Posted on 05 Nov 2021

November heralds a time of transition in Victoria. We’re entering our COVID-normal settings, with Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) services opening up to all children. As our state opens up our children can, once again, experience important milestones such as orientation and transition to school.

Vaccination levels across our workforce have been magnificent and will help to keep the children in our education and care safe, so they can keep learning. ELAA is here to support your service to work with staff to comply with vaccination requirements.  Members can access extra resources from  the member only area on the ELAA website to help them work with staff on vaccination.

The new COVID-normal settings provide services with the capacity to adjust their operations to suit their communities, and to keep children, staff and families safe. In this week’s eNews we have included information on the Victorian Department of Education and Training’s new COVIDSafe Settings Guide for ECEC services . Please ensure you refer to this Guide as it is now the key source of advice for Victorian ECEC services to follow .

If you need support from ELAA, or have ideas about any resources or information sessions that can support you as you make this transition please let us know.

Finally, we look forward to seeing you at our (online) Annual General Meeting at 6.30pm on 18 November, where we can celebrate our collective achievements during another very challenging year for our sector; celebrate and share some memories for ELAA’s 30th anniversary; announce the McArthur Early Childhood Volunteer of the Year and come together as a sector. If you haven’t yet registered to attend our online AGM  please be sure to do so by CLICKING HERE.

Take care and stay safe
