11 MayELAA CEO Update – Ballot Result – VECTEA 2020
Dear members and friends,
We are pleased to announce that a majority of employees have voted in favour of the Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement 2020 (VECTEA).
The ballot was conducted from Monday, 3 May to Monday, 10 May 2021.
Of those who voted, 99% (3812) voted ‘YES’ to approve the agreement – this is a resounding majority ‘Yes’ vote. We had an excellent turnout, with a 60 per cent participation rate, out of the 6408 eligible voters.
On reaching this milestone, ELAA would like to thank:
- staff who voted
- participating VECTEA employers for your support
- the Australian Education Union bargaining representative for supporting the voting process.
Next steps
For an agreement to be made, it must be first approved by the Fair Work Commission. We will notify our members once our application for approval of an enterprise agreement has been lodged with the Commission.
