02 MarFree Starting Out Safely road safety education professional learning session with Karen Glancy

Posted on 02 Mar 2021

Road trauma continues to be one of the leading causes of death among young Australians. Therefore, it is important that educators act purposefully to help children learn about their own safety and the safety of others on the roads.

To be effective, road safety education must be evidence based, and match the child’s stage of development and level of independence as a road user. As children develop these skills, they become safe and active participants in their communities, now and into the future.

In this session we will share practical strategies to support young children’s learning about road safety, based on the latest evidence-based research.
