19 NovInformation sharing reforms – have your say

Posted on 19 Nov 2019

The next phase of the Child Information and Family Violence Information Sharing Schemes and MARAM is now open for public consultation. A proposed Phase Two of the reforms introducing further workforces (including early learning and care services) is now open for public consultation.

New information sharing schemes permit workforces to share information with each other to promote the wellbeing or safety of Victorian children and families.

Workforces are being introduced to the reforms over time. Phase One of the reforms is already in place and allows frontline services such as Child Protection, Child First, Maternal and Child Health, and Victoria Police to share information.

A proposed Phase Two of the reforms introducing further workforces is now open for public consultation. It is proposed that Phase Two will bring key universal services into the reforms, including schools, early childhood education and care services, general practitioners and public hospitals.

Additional workforces need to be prescribed by Regulation. Stakeholders and the public are welcome to provide written submissions on the draft Regulations and Regulatory Impact Statements.
