The most recent Vic DET COVID-19 update was published 4 November. Key points included in the update for ECEC providers include:

  • Message to families from the Victorian Chief Health Officer
  • Permitted Worker Permit Scheme  – permits no longer required unless crossing from metro Melbourne into regional Vic.
  • Excursions –  excursions can take place when service has exclusive use of a venue and activity is part of an agreed program of early years education. Visits to aged care facilities still prohibited
  • Visitors to services, including service tours – onsite tours for prospective families not to occur during normal operating hours but can occur when the service is not operating, for a maximum group size of 10 people. Some exceptions apply with strict conditions.
  • School Readiness Funding – providers will shortly receive advice outlining their 2021 SRF allocation. Date for services to submit their SRF Annual Plan extended to Monday 7 December 2020.
  • VET student placements – student placements for vocational education and training (VET) courses can now resume.
  • Kindergarten on-site attendance survey – reminder that funded kindergarten providers will be emailed the survey each Friday morning, to complete and submit by close of business the following Wednesday.
