09 JunLooking to have your say in ELAA submissions?
ELAA is frequently invited to contribute to submissions on a diverse range of topics relevant to the ECEC sector. We are establishing a flexible advisory group of approximately 8-10 members including representatives from early years management organisations and stand-alone kindergartens who are interested in helping to shape submissions.
What we are looking for:
- Members with an interest in helping to shape policy and regulatory reform and implementation.
Why?
- Increase the accuracy and relevance of ELAA’s submissions by timely engagement of interested members about their views and experiences.
- Increase our range of options for consulting members. Where possible we currently advertise our intent to make a submission in eNews and invite feedback. We also consult through reference groups such as IR Reference Group, CEO Reference Group and EYM Reference Group and undertake an annual survey.
How will it work?
Flexibly. Timeframes for consultations can vary from a couple of days to months. Members who have indicated their interest will be notified of ELAA’s intent to make a submission. ELAA will identify questions for consideration of those indicating an interest and seek contributions in ways that best suit members.
What are the current submissions the advisory group is considering?
ELAA is currently developing submissions to:
- Parliamentary Inquiry into the early childhood engagement of CALD communities– to provide additional information about the engagement during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
- Portable Long Service Leave Regulations– to provide input into final regulations to be introduced in November 2020.
