ELAA has added two more fact sheets to our member-only coronavirus (COVID-19) resource section on ELAA website. While answers to common ECEC COVID-19 related questions are freely available on ELAA’s public-facing COVID-19 FAQ page, the resources in our coronavirus (COVID-19) resource section on our My Membership page provide more in-depth practical and instructive advice, and are only available to ELAA members.

The new COVID 19 member resources added this week include:

  • IR/HR Advice for the Early Childhood Education & Care Sector – this fact sheet is designed to provide guidance to some of the key issues that multiple ECEC organisations are experiencing in relation to staffing during COVID-19. Key questions covered include:
    • Do I need to close groups/services?
    • Can my service stand down staff during the COVID-19 crisis?
    • Administration staff and above award payments – can I discuss a decrease in hours and cease the above award payment and how do I approach staff with this?
    • Staff requesting to work from home.
    • Where do I get relief staff?
    • What does remote learning look like?
    • How can staff work from home, if the service is to remain open?
    • Our staff are asking to be paid additional hours for remote learning – do I have to pay them for additional hours?

 

  • How to function as a Committee of Management during COVID-19 – the current Stage 3 restrictions in Victoria mean that committee meetings cannot take place face-to-face but Committees of Management (COMs) must still meet their regulatory obligations and there are many alternatives to face-to-face meetings. This information sheet provides COMs with a guide to adapt to the current COVID-19 environment so you can continue to meet your legal obligations as an incorporated association. It also provides important information about new safe harbour protections for insolvency and planning your AGM.

You can access these resources by logging in to the ELAA website, going to the My Membership area and selecting coronavirus (COVID-19) resources in the members menu on the left hand side. We will be updating this page with more resources as they are ready for you.
