Posted on 26 Mar 2021

Committees of Management, Early Years Managers, approved providers, and educational leaders – don’t miss ELAA’s next online forum re the Child Information Sharing Reforms and new three-year-old kindergarten roll-out update

Is your Victorian service ready for the commencement of three new inter-related child and family violence reforms?

The Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS), the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS) and the Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) will commence 19 April 2021.

From the beginning of Term 2, authorised Victorian Early Childhood Education and Care Professionals will be able to share information about children’s wellbeing and safety with other authorised professionals who work with children and families. The Reforms build upon and complement your existing child and family wellbeing and safety responsibilities and practices. They cover all aspects of service delivery from early identification, screening, risk assessment, and management, to safety planning, collaborative practice, stabilisation, and recovery.

Join Lisa Gandolfo, Executive Director – Victorian Child Information Sharing Reform , for an update on what Victorian ECEC services need to know and do regarding the reforms and where to go for more information. There will be a Q&A after Lisa’s presentation where participants will have the opportunity to ask questions (or you can lodge a question prior to the event). And ELAA will showcase our PolicyWorks Privacy and Confidentiality Policy as a related resource.

Funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten roll-out update

How to manage change and build a strong workforce for 2022

The Victorian Government is introducing universal funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten across Victoria. The reform has so far been successfully implemented in 21 regional local government areas, supporting thousands of Victorian children and families.

Next year, the reform will mean services in all other parts of the state will be funded to provide five hours of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten to children. There will also be many new opportunities for teachers and educators.

Join Bronwen FitzGerald, Executive Director, Kindergarten Reform Implementation, Victorian Department of Education and Training, to find out more about the 2022 roll-out.

Topics will cover:

  • tips from previous implementation areas about adapting to the changes
  • workforce initiatives, including new resources and financial support
  • infrastructure initiatives that create more Three-Year-Old Kindergarten places.

There will also be a Q&A section, and information on how ELAA can support services to expand to deliver a funded three-year-old program.
