Creating policies can take months of research and writing. Well-crafted policies can help Early Childhood Education and Care services with compliance, providing strategic perspective for decision making, and simplifying processes. The Free Policies for the Early Childhood Sector resource has been recently reviewed by ELAA to provide comprehensive information and guidance for Approved Providers, Early Years Managers/Service Directors, Committees of Management and Policy Officers on the policy development and/or review process.
The new Helpful resources for policy development contains information on:
- policy elements that could be considered when developing a policy template
- policy development processes to support regular maintenance of policies, through a review and revision process which contribute to the continuous improvement of all aspects of service delivery.
- links to resources to inform policy content. The links contained within this information sheet provide the policy writer with useful information to consider during the drafting process from relevant and trustworthy sources.
