26 AugNew resource to help employers support staff affected by family and domestic violence

Posted on 26 Aug 2019

The FairWork Ombudsman has released a new guide titled An Employer Guide to Family and Domestic Violence to support employers in meeting their responsibilities to employees experiencing family and domestic violence.

The effects of family and domestic violence can extend to heightened financial stress, homelessness, isolation and vulnerability for employees and directly affect an employee’s ability to function normally at work. And workforces like the Early Learning sector, with higher proportions of female employees, are more likely to be impacted.

Employers unsure of where to start in supporting a worker affected by family and domestic violence can start by reading the guide which also comes with additional resources such as a checklist for employers, a short version of the guide, and a list of support services for affected employees.
