19 MayNew VEYLDF Professional Learning Support packages for Vic teachers and educators

The Victorian Department of Education and Training has announced three new professional learning packages to be delivered in partnership with Early Childhood Australia. The packages include:

  • Guiding Children’s Behaviour: regulation, respect and relationships – an online series and facilitated Community of Practice focusing on dysregulation, co-regulation, and self-regulation; guiding and responding to behaviour; relationships with children, families and professionals; and behaviour as communication, drawing upon trauma informed approaches.
  • Connecting assessment to practice – an online series focusing on the role of assessment in documentation, observation and the teaching and learning cycle. The whole of child approach to assessment will also be explored, including how to make learning visible for children and families.
  • ECA’s Leadership Program for Victorian Educational Leaders – a tailored Victorian focused version of the well-known ECA Leadership Program. Educational leaders will be supported through this six-month self-paced and self-directed program with regular live check-ins and webinars, a suite of high-quality, evidence-based resources aligned to the VEYLDF, and access to contemporary research.

These new programs for Victorian kindergarten teachers and early childhood educators will support high quality practice and implementation of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) in funded kindergarten programs.
