08 SepPirate Day – dress up for a cause

Posted on 08 Sep 2020

Did you know more Australian children die of brain cancer than any other disease? It’s a statistic that has barely shifted in the past 30 years, but you can help change it by dressing like a pirate and making a donation to scientific research.

Pirate Day is an annual national fundraiser co-hosted by The Kids’ Cancer Project and The Pirate Ship Foundation. Money raised goes to world-class childhood brain cancer research to find more effective treatments and ultimately a cure.

While the official date for Pirate Day 2020 is September 24, you can choose any date that suits you and your crew. Funds raised this September and October will be doubled as part of The Kids’ Cancer Project Double Impact Appeal.

So if dressing up isn’t your thing, you can still give twice the hope to kids with brain cancer with a donation to the Double Impact Appeal.

To register a Pirate Day, head to pirateday.com.au where you’ll find fun activities and resources to help you have a successful fundraising day.

So hoist the mainsail and get on board!
