A new 10-year Education and Care Workforce Strategy has been released: Shaping our Future. The strategy, developed in consultation with the sector, training bodies, unions and peak bodies, including ELAA, aims to foster a sustainable and high-quality workforce of early childhood teachers and educators for the future.
The strategy outlines short, medium and long-term actions across important focus areas of:
- professional recognition
- attraction and attention
- leadership and capability
- wellbeing
- qualifications and career pathways
- data and evidence.
These actions aim to build on the significant investment by all governments and the sector to date in workforce-related initiatives and provides a road map to creating a more sustainable and skilled workforce.
ELAA, together with Community Child Care and Community Early Learning Association, are developing a report informed by over 700 survey responses as part of our continued advocacy efforts to address critical workforce shortages and to respond to the national workforce strategy.
