21 MayShorter waiting lists for Autism assessments in Melbourne’s north

Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) are now offering autism assessment services in Melbourne (Flemington) with short term waiting lists.

All assessments are conducted by specialist staff who are trained in the use of gold standard assessment instruments (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule and Autism Diagnostic Interview). Aspect (Flemington) currently have the ability to see families within a few weeks. The public waitlists for these assessments can be very long.

Assessment for clients under the age of 13 are also eligible for a $340 Medicare rebate if referred to our service from a paediatrician or psychiatrist.

Aspect are Australia’s largest service provider for people on the autism spectrum and offer specialist services including assessments, therapy, positive behaviour support, family support and programs.

Aspect offers a range of assessments for all ages including:

Autism Assessments – an autism assessment will determine whether someone has autism and provide detailed information about their strengths and support needs.

Review Assessments – a review assessment can support individuals who have previously been diagnosed with autism at times of transition or assist in accessing appropriate funding and supports (Helping Children with Autism Package, the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Disability Allowance).

All assessments provide information about social skills, behaviour, everyday living skills and current support needs and include information about an individual’s strengths, talents and interests so that support plans can be tailored to their particular goals and aspirations.
