15 AprYour coronavirus (COVID 19) questions answered: Support for unfunded three-year-old kinder

Posted on 15 Apr 2020

What support is available for un-funded three-year-old kindergarten programs? ELAA has been advocating to the Department of Education and Training (DET) and the Minister for Education for support for unfunded kindergarten programs for three-year-old children. Support has been confirmed , subject to a case by case assessment based on:

  • the program hours
  • number of enrolled children
  • number of children currently attending
  • parent fees
  • staff arrangements, including salary levels
  • services meeting obligations under funding agreement.

Service providers wishing to request this support should contact DET at kindergarten.funding@edumail.vic.gov.au as soon as possible.
