The anzuk Education Volunteer of the Year Award celebrates the significant contribution volunteers make to the Early Childhood Education and Care sector.

We would like to acknowledge all nominees for their valuable contributions that are integral to the running of services, and their colleagues for taking the time to recognise and celebrate their efforts.

While there were many excellent nominations received this year, we are pleased to announce the finalists were:

  • Emma Butler from Wahroonga Preschool, in Greensborough, Victoria
  • Paul Cortissos from Thornbury Kindergarten in Victoria
  • Lois Maiden from Totom House located in Kaleen, ACT
  • Anne Sidebottom from North Brighton Kindergarten, Victoria

Congratulations to all of the finalists. They have all given their time and made fantastic contributions to their service and community. ELAA and anzuk Education wish them continued success.

The 2022 anzuk Education Early Childhood Volunteer of the Year Award was awarded to Paul Cortissos, from Thornbury Kindergarten in Victoria. Congratulations Paul.

Paul was nominated and selected as the 2022 winner for supporting staff, creating pride and inclusion, engaging and backing local business, rallying and energising volunteers, and connecting with, and listening to the families at Thornbury Kindergarten. Paul’s work invests in the future of Thornbury Kindergarten and will benefit families to come. He’s an incredible role model.

ELAA would like to thank anzuk Education for their generous support of these awards.
