Posted on 05 Apr 2023

Barwon Child, Youth and Family (BCYF) and Bethany Group – Community Support and Kindergarten Services have merged and will now operate under the new name, Meli. Meli is inspired by the word ‘meliorism’ – the belief that the world can be made better through human effort. With a combined workforce of over 750 staff and over 300 years of experience, Meli will be the largest provider in the Barwon region.

Meli will be led by ELAA board member, Grant Boyd. Grant previously served as ELAA’s chairperson and has been the CEO of Bethany Group since 2008.

“Meli will continue to provide its current community services to children, young people, families, and individuals including our network of 29 kindergartens, with plans to grow our services to meet the changing needs of our communities,” Mr Boyd said. Meli operates services in Greater Geelong, the Bellarine, Surf Coast, Winchelsea, Colac, Bannockburn, Warrnambool and Horsham regions.

ELAA wishes to congratulate BCYF and Bethany on this merger and celebrate their new organisation, Meli.
