ELAA is seeking a talented full-time HR Advisor (0.8 available), specialising in workplace relations, to join our collaborative Member Solutions Team. 

Reporting to the Senior Advisor – Workplace Relations, the HR/Workplace Relations Advisor provides industrial relations advisory support to Early Childhood Education and Care services. This opportunity is ideal for an emerging HR professional who has prior experience working within an Early Years Manager (EYM) or independent service or is interested in learning about the thriving early education and care sector.

In this role, you will:

  • receive member enquiries via phone and email and provide working knowledge of employment legislation, including the Modern Award system and/or enterprise agreements, the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards
  • provide employee relations advice, guiding employers on disciplinary matters, performance management, redundancy and grievance processes (training will be provided)
  • support and advise ELAA members to manage their governance, employment and regulatory responsibilities
  • establish and maintain relationships with both new and existing members and other service providers, including following up to ensure advice given meets requirements.

A background in human resources or workplace relations and at least 12 months of industry experience is required for this role (tertiary qualifications are preferred but not a prerequisite). Prior experience within the Early Childhood Education and Care sector or with the Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement (VECTEA) is highly regarded.  Graduates are welcome to apply.
