ELAA, in partnership with the Victorian Department of Education, has recently produced a suite of free, short educational video resources to support approved providers in managing their early childhood service. These videos provide a great introduction to governance topics and complement our live governance training sessions and online self-paced modules.

Here is a summary of the content covered.

  • Video 7: Committee’s role in recruitment. This video highlights the role of committees in recruitment in Early Childhood services, covering roles, qualifications, safety standards, referee checks, and registrations.
  • Video 8: Change  management. In this video we discuss important reforms within the Early Childhood sector, and the growing need for a growth-change mindset to support services with change.
  • Video 9: How to hold a successful committee meeting. In this video, we focus on calling and holding committee meetings for incorporated associations in Victoria. The video covers committee meetings, the annual general meeting, often referred to as an AGM, special general meetings (SGM), and the rules and procedures governing these meetings.
  • Video 10: Leadership – director and committee roles in service management. In this video, we delve into the responsibilities of committees, including the role as an approved provider, employer and administrator. We will explore what can and cannot be delegated to a business manager or director.
  • Video 11: Understanding the Early Childhood Education and Care sector. In this video, we embark on an exploration of the early childhood education and care sector – unravelling its challenges, benefits, and recent reforms shaping the future of the sector.
  • Video 12: The role of the committee in continuous improvement. In this video we explore the committee’s role regarding the National Quality Framework, Quality Improvement Plans, and Continuous Improvement strategies.
