New short training videos now available

Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) in partnership with the Victorian Department of Education, has produced a suite of free, short educational video resources to support approved providers in managing their early childhood service. These videos provide a great introduction to governance topics and complement our live governance training sessions and online self-paced modules. Here is a summary of the content covered:   

Video 1: Principles of Good Governance:
This video provides a short introduction to the definition, values and principles of good governance in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) services. The content explores important aspects of governance such as the constitution, incorporated associations, and an introduction to the committee’s responsibilities.  

Video 2: Succession planning:
Here we look at strategies to ensure a successful committee handover, recruitment and engagement to support the organisation’s continuity.
 

Video 3: Role of Committee, Approved Provider, Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader
An insight into understanding the main roles and their responsibilities attached within an incorporated association and early childhood education and care services.
 

Video 4: Fulfilling your reporting requirements
In this video we explore the committees’ reporting requirements, zooming into financial, regulatory, legal and industrial responsibilities. 

Video 5: Strategies for recruiting committee positions
In this session we examine a variety of valuable strategies aimed at supporting succession planning, recruiting for upcoming committees and engaging in smooth handovers and transitions.
 

Video 6: Overview of a committee of management/incorporation, including constitution
In this video we will explore the definitions of a committee, an incorporated association and a constitution in relation to ECEC services. As we move through the chapters, we will break down how the rules of constitution work, how to interpret them and the process to modify them.
