15 FebWhat’s happening in Industrial Relations?

Posted on 15 Feb 2023

ELAA has been at the table for federal industrial relations discussions, which have commenced for 2023.

We’ve been actively advocating that any new multi-enterprise agreement covers the breadth of the ECEC workforce. Teachers and educators need to be included.

We’ve also argued that members covered by other equal or superior agreements should not be disadvantaged if federal funding is secured to support wage increases.

This week we met with unions and peaks and discussed a workable solution.

On 27 February, we will engage with the Minister for Industrial Relations and other peaks and unions to progress discussions with the aim to secure a commitment to a federally funded wage increase aligned to the mid-year commencement of Cheaper Child Care.

At a state level, we’ve commenced our VECTEA working group and are seeking to engage the Department and Minister early to secure increased support for our workforce.

Keep an eye on your future ELAAVATEs for more.
