Myths and realities of documentation and planning

28 July, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm UTC+10

There have been some interesting myths circulating about what is expected in order to meet and exceed Quality Area 1. This seminar will debunk some of those myths around collecting information about children and planning and documenting the curriculum.

This session will review all the steps in the planning cycle and will clarify current approaches in assessment and learning. It will encourage early childhood teachers/ educators to assess whether they’re using methods that encourage and support each child’s learning, development and wellbeing.

Come along to get answers to some of these common questions:

  • How should the Frameworks be guiding our decision-making about documentation and planning?
  • How much documentation is enough?
  • How can we create meaningful documentation in the time we have available?
  • Should portfolios be used or not?
  • How should the curriculum be displayed?
