ELAA has published an updated resource to support members with the management of their staffing concerns, the Managing Performance Related Concerns (MPRC).

ELAA members can now download this free and comprehensive resource from the ELAA website here, including easy-to-use tools, tip sheets and word templates.

The MPRC Resource was updated this year in partnership with the Victorian Department of Education (DE) and ELAA’s Industrial Relations Reference Group, with a renewed focus on employer obligations under the VECTEA.

HR Managers, committees, and leaders within early childhood services will find this a useful resource when managing issues of underperformance and misconduct in the workplace. It will also help to understand industrial relations obligations and best practice.

We know that establishing and fostering a positive performance evaluation and development system with employees contributes to employee satisfaction, improved performance, and quality and enables any concerns to be identified early. Our companion resource, the Employee Management & Development (EM&D) Resource, can also support members with this process. Nonetheless, there are some circumstances where employee conduct or performance requires an individualised management response by the employer which is the focus of the MPRC Resource.

The MPRC Resource guides users through informative topics, including understanding employee management in early childhood, the differences between underperformance and misconduct, and how to determine what approach to take. In addition, eight tools are included in the resource, including fillable performance improvement plans, meeting records and template letters.

Access the MPRC Resource here.
