25 OctNavigating contract changes for 2024

Posted on 25 Oct 2023

As the year draws to a close, it’s that time when service providers evaluate and adjust their workforce plans for the upcoming year. This process involves both confirming existing agreements for 2024 and officially proposing any changes, such as adjustments to working hours.

If your employees are continuing with their current employment arrangements into 2024, you can conveniently update their Letters of Employment by referring to the Early Childhood Management Manual available through ELAA resources.

When considering employee contract modifications, such as alterations to work schedules or changes in job responsibilities, please be mindful of your obligations as outlined in clause 9 of VECTEA 2020, which mandates consultation with affected employees. It is essential to adhere to this requirement to prevent any breaches of VECTEA 2020 and potential involvement of the Fair Work Commission.

Please reach out to the Member Solutions Team membersolutions@elaa.org.au if you require support with timetable changes for 2024.

For expert assistance in proposing and implementing changes to staffing arrangements, you can request consultancy services through Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) via the following link: ELAA Consultancy Services.
