Vic government to build a further 5 new kindergartens

Four more kindergartens will be built at schools across Victoria in 2023 and an existing kindergarten will be expanded ─ creating 300 extra approved kindergarten places for local children. (more…)

Applications have opened for the Building Blocks Inclusion Grant

The Building Blocks Inclusion grants stream is now open for applications. Eligible organisations can apply for funding for upgrades to buildings and playgrounds to ensure they are inclusive of children of all abilities or for inclusive education equipment for kindergarten programs.

Safe transportation of children – new regulations in force

Transporting children can present additional risks. This can include during the transition from the vehicle and the service location.  From October 1, 2021 the introduction of the new regulation requirements (Division 7, Regulation 102A, 102B, 102C, 102D) came into effect to strengthen oversight arrangements of transport that occurs when children are under the care of an education and care service. Standalone kinders and the Reportable Conduct Scheme

Under the Reportable Conduct Scheme, the head of organisation carries legal responsibilities and is ultimately responsible for the organisation’s compliance with the scheme. Heads of organisation are usually someone with the title of CEO or Principle Officer. In the case of stand-alone kindergartens, the committee must nominate a head of organisation. (more…)

ELAA Advocacy Strategy

On Thursday 25 November the ELAA Board endorsed the ELAA 2025 Advocacy Strategy. This strategy recognises the strengths of the community sector in providing higher quality ECEC to more vulnerable children in diverse settings, and positions ELAA to respond to challenges including sector sustainability, governance burdens and shifting parental preferences. 3y.o Kinder Kits – order now

Time is running out to order your Kinder Kit. To celebrate the statewide roll-out of funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten, the Victorian Government will provide each child starting funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten or Early Start Kinder in 2022 with a Kinder Kit containing fun, play-based and environmentally sustainable learning materials that they can keep for themselves.
