Kindergarten for all three-year-old children

Changes to VIT’s teacher registration scheme

The Victorian Government has recently amended the Education and Training Reform Act (2006) to require

  • principals and early childhood managers to provide certain information to VIT
  • registered teachers to provide certain information to VIT and Working with Children Check Victoria (WWCCV)
  • VIT to closely align its registration scheme with the WWC Check scheme. This scheme assesses applicants who apply for a WWC Check to enable them to engage in child-related work.

ELAA CEO Update 31 July 2019 (revised pm 310719)

Dear members,

It’s been a very busy couple of weeks at ELAA.  We will shortly lodge an application with the Fair Work Commission to seek a variation to the Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement (VECTEA) Order.  This variation is sought to ensure the Fair Work Authorisation’s scope is consistent with the current VECTEA (2016), that being: (more…)
